Adansi Rural Bank supports Farmers’ Day Celebration & Heal Komfo Anokye project

Daniel Amponsah, CEO of the Bank (in suit) presenting some of the items to the District Coordinating Director of Adansi North, Thomas Kwame Okrah, (in smock) while some management staff of the bank and other officers from the Assembly look on admirably The Adansi Rural Bank PLC at Fomena in the Adansi North district of Ashanti Region has donated farm inputs as well as electro-domestic products and other items valued at GH¢30,000 to two municipal assemblies and 6 districts in the Ashanti Region. This donation forms part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility in support of the just-ended 39th National Farmers’ Day Celebrations, held across the nation last Friday on the theme ‘Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience’. The items donated include 8 refrigerators, 3 boxes of ‘Crocodile’ brand cutlasses, 24 Knapsack Spray Machines and 12 pairs of Wellington boots at a total cost of GH¢30,000 The beneficiary districts and institutions are Obuasi and Ejisu Municipal Assemblies, Obuasi East and Adansi South District Assemblies. The rest are Adansi North, Adansi Akrofuom, Adansi Asokwa and Atwima Kwanwoma District Assemblies. Bank CEO Daniel Amponsah told newsmen that the bank is very sensitive to development, particularly within its operational territories in the area of agriculture to support government’s food security or food self-sufficiency agenda; hence the need to offer support on that relevant occasion. In view of this, the Board after perusing letters of request made by these districts approved GH¢30,000 of the bank’s social responsibility budget to support the 39th National Famers’ Day. According to him, the bank gives these supports out of profits they make every year; and so the districts should consider taking keen interest in the bank’s activities and do business with it so they can make more profit to sustain such supports. The CEO – with support from other management staff who made presentations on behalf of the Bank and Board of Directors – congratulated all farmers who won awards this year and advised them to continue their hard work. In a related development, Adansi Rural Bank PLC has donated an amount of GH¢10,000 in support of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project. The project is an initiative of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to bring the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to an enviable status by renovating the facility as part of activities to mark his 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2024.
